Reflections, is a 2016 Lebanese movie, directed by Sarah Zeryab. with a runtime of 17 minutes.
Reflections is a poignant short documentary about Sarah, a young Syrian woman living in Beirut, for whom WhatsApp has been the sole lifeline to her parents in the besieged al-Yarmouk camp in Damascus for three consecutive years. When her father sends her a voice note singing a song by the legendary Oum Kulthoum, Sarah begins to realize that war has reversed their roles — her parents have become like children, clinging to memories of a vanishing past. The film tenderly explores displacement, longing, and the aching question Sarah cannot escape: what do her parents look like now?
