Ouroboros, is a 2017 Palestinian movie, directed by Basma Alsharif, and starring Neemah Abu Ghenas, Jessica Bellinger, Coleman Collins. with a runtime of 74 minutes.
Ouroboros is a 74-minute experimental narrative film and a cinematic homage to the Gaza Strip and to the endurance of hope in the face of devastation. Taking its name and central symbol from the ancient image of the snake devouring its own tail — simultaneously end and beginning, death and rebirth — the film transforms the destruction of Gaza into an intimate story of loss and longing. Its central character, Diego Marcon, embarks on a circular, inescapable journey through Native American territories, the ancient Italian city of Matera, a castle in Brittany, and the ruins of Gaza, merging them into a single harrowing landscape. Ouroboros asks, with urgency and sorrow, what it means to be human when humanity itself has failed.
