The film follows his daily battle with himself and with the bewildering contradictions of post-revolution Tunisia, as he pursues an obsessive quest for authentic emotion and raw expression. Director and subject together build a rare and unflinching portrait of passion, self-destruction, and the blurry line between art and compulsion.
