The Regret is an Egyptian drama charting the fall of a contented family man from domestic happiness into financial ruin and moral collapse. His stable life with his wife and two children is upended when a seductive dancer draws him into a passionate affair, promising an escape from routine. As he surrenders more and more of himself — and his money — to her world of glittering nights, the dancer begins to pull away once his resources run dry. Left with nothing but the wreckage of what he had, the film delivers a sober cautionary portrait of desire, manipulation, and the burning regret that follows when a man trades his real life for an illusion.
