Uwais Al-Tasi' 'Ashar (Owais the Nineteenth) is a 1987 Saudi comedy stage production written by Rashid Al-Shamrani and directed by Amer Al-Hammoud. The play revolves around Eissa — nicknamed Owais — a humble janitor who is handed the director's chair for a single day, setting off a cascade of comic situations as he navigates his unexpected authority. The production features a celebrated cast of Saudi performers including Mohammed Al-Ali, Khaled Sami, Fouad Bakhsh, Ali Ibrahim, Abdulrahman Al-Khatib, Abdullah Al-Sadhan, and Nasser Al-Qasabi — a lineup that became synonymous with Saudi comedy of the era.
