Overview

Understand Me is an Arabic comedy that follows Nasser, a free-spirited traveler who briefly entertains the idea of settling down by marrying his friend's daughter. What seems like a simple plan is quickly derailed when the girl's father presents a list of impossible conditions that make the marriage all but unattainable. Unable to meet the demands placed on him, Nasser shrugs off the whole enterprise and returns to the open road he loves. The film uses his predicament to poke gentle fun at the elaborate conditions and social gatekeeping that often surround marriage in Arab culture.
