Overview

From Meir to Meir is a personal documentary in which a filmmaker journeys to Meir, the village where her great-grandparents were born and which her grandparents left behind but never stopped loving. When she arrives, she discovers a present-day community whose own inhabitants dream of leaving, creating a poignant irony at the heart of the film. The documentary meditates on memory, belonging, and the gap between nostalgia and lived reality, asking what it means to feel tied to a place you have never truly known — and why people leave the places others spend a lifetime longing for.
