Overview

Madaniya is a documentary capturing the extraordinary uprising of Sudanese youth who, hemmed in by a repressive government, turned to digital organizing to ignite a nationwide wave of peaceful protests. The film charts how a generation armed with smartphones and social media platforms mobilized across the country, ultimately forcing the ouster of a president who had ruled Sudan for decades. A gripping record of modern civil resistance, collective courage, and the power of nonviolent action in the digital age.
