Overview

Karakib is an Egyptian documentary that ventures inside ordinary Egyptian homes to explore a beloved national quirk — the habit of holding onto old and unused objects, stuffed into balcony corners and hidden nooks across every household. The director's lens becomes an inquisitive guide, asking a deceptively simple question: why do Egyptians keep all this stuff? Part sociological study, part warm human portrait, Karakib uncovers the emotional and cultural bonds between Egyptians and their accumulated belongings — revealing how memory, identity, and nostalgia are stored not just in minds, but in things.
