At a glance

Searching for Rushdi, is a 2015 Egyptian movie, directed by Ahmed Nader. with a runtime of 50 minutes.

Overview

Searching for Rushdi is a personal documentary in which a director embarks on an unlikely quest: to find the anonymous beach photographer who once captured an image of his father in the 1970s. What begins as a search for a single unknown person becomes a meditation on memory, time, and the photographs that hold our pasts in place. The film transforms a faded snapshot into the starting point of a journey through history and family, asking what we owe to the people — often invisible, often forgotten — who preserve our moments for us. Searching for Rushdi is a tender and poignant exploration of how images connect us to those who came before.
