Jeyetna, is a 2021 Lebanese movie, directed by Evelina Llewellyn. with a runtime of 68 minutes.
Jeyetna is a Lebanese documentary that paints ten intimate portraits of women experiencing period poverty following Lebanon's economic collapse, which since 2019 has made menstrual products unaffordable for nearly three-quarters of the population. Among those portrayed are Amira, a Syrian refugee; Gigi, a transgender woman; and Funmi, a Nigerian migrant worker — lives that intersect at the crossroads of economic hardship and bodily dignity. A sensitive and urgent film, Jeyetna shines a light on an invisible crisis that disproportionately affects the most marginalized women in Lebanese society.
