Fire in the Nile is a documentary film chronicling the Sudanese Revolution that erupted on 16 December 2018, when mass street protests swept the country and ultimately toppled the long-ruling dictator Omar al-Bashir. Over the course of more than 38 weeks, the uprising claimed over 300 lives and led to more than 1,200 arrests. The film examines how ordinary Sudanese citizens confronted an entrenched regime, capturing the strategies, sacrifices, and resilience that defined one of the most significant popular revolutions in recent Arab history.
