Emergence (Micro-Commissions #3: Insecure) is an experimental short film produced as part of the Beirut Art Center's micro-commissions program, in which four filmmakers and videographers were challenged to create narrative works using only footage from the six CCTV cameras installed within the BAC space. As preparation began, an unplanned theme emerged — the weight of anticipated disaster that has come to define contemporary Lebanese life, infiltrating even the most intimate corners of daily existence. A meditation on surveillance, collective dread, and the fragile spaces we call shelter.
