Overview

Behind the Wall is a Moroccan short film told through the curious eyes of Nadia, a five-year-old girl living in the slums of Casablanca, separated from the rest of the city by a tall wall. When she notices municipal workers suddenly appear to paint the wall — a structure long ignored — Nadia's childlike wonder turns into quiet questioning. The film uses this simple, observational premise to deliver a poignant commentary on urban inequality, visibility, and the selective beautification projects that serve those on the other side of the divide.
