Asr Al-Junoon is a Syrian social drama series weaving together the collapsing worlds of several characters pushed to their limits. Saleh, played by Bassam Kousa, squanders his wealth through bad company and begins a devastating downward spiral. Meanwhile, Dr. Imad's family faces tragedy when their young son Riad, played by Basel Khayat, goes missing in a forest during a family trip. The orphaned boy is taken in by Zainab, played by Shakran Murtaji, a woman battling hysteria, who also encounters Mona, played by Abeer Shamseddine, a young woman who has fled her village to escape an arranged marriage. When Zainab is murdered, Saleh's family assumes guardianship of Riad, setting off a chain of irreversible consequences.
