Overview

The Scream is a Kuwaiti short film directed by Meqdad Al-Kout, offering an intimate and unflinching portrait of a single day in the life of a young Kuwaiti man battling depression. Through quiet observation of mundane moments — each carrying an undercurrent of pain and isolation — the film gives voice to an internal struggle that rarely finds expression. Al-Kout's restrained direction allows the emotional weight to build gradually, resulting in an honest and resonant short that speaks to the often invisible suffering of mental illness.
