Overview

Al-Saraya is a Libyan historical drama series set between 1783 and 1795, during the reign of the Qaramanli dynasty in Tripoli. The series centers on Hassan Bek, son of governor Ali Pasha, a man renowned for his fairness toward his people and his valor in defending his homeland. His virtues, however, breed resentment in his brothers Ahmad and Yusuf, whose envy intensifies when their father falls gravely ill with tuberculosis. The ensuing power struggle lays bare the ambitions and betrayals simmering within the royal household, delivering a rich period drama of politics, loyalty, and dynastic conflict.
