Alsabr fi Almulahat is an Egyptian social drama series built around a profound injustice: a maid is sentenced to life imprisonment in place of Kawthar, a drug dealer who escapes punishment by letting her take the fall. Left with no alternative, Kawthar adopts the maid's daughter and raises her alongside her own children. The girl grows up to become a dedicated police officer, unaware of the dark secret at the heart of her upbringing. Her past catches up with her when she crosses paths with a petty thief she doesn't realize is her biological brother, and she remains ignorant of both her real mother rotting in prison and the complicated truth about the woman who raised her.
