Overview

Bahloul the Brave is an Arabic comedy series starring Issam Suleiman as Bahloul, a man whose defining characteristic is an almost philosophical reluctance to rely on himself when other people are available. When circumstances force him to leave his village and start over somewhere new, a simple misunderstanding transforms him overnight into a legend: the villagers become convinced that the newcomer is a warrior of extraordinary courage and strength. Overjoyed, they embrace him as the answer to their prayers — specifically, the prayers they have been offering about the wolf terrorising their livestock and threatening their lives. The comedy builds deliciously on the gap between Bahloul's reputation and reality, and on how long a man can sustain a heroic image he never asked for.
