The Treasure (الكنز) is a Moroccan comedy that follows Ahmed, an ordinary employee who receives a financial bonus from work — and promptly falls under the spell of his friends' get-rich-quick schemes. Convinced to invest his windfall in a treasure hunt, Ahmed becomes completely consumed by the obsession, neglecting his job, his home, and every practical responsibility in pursuit of buried riches that may or may not exist. A lighthearted satirical look at greed, wishful thinking, and the way a sudden windfall can turn a sensible man into a dreamer chasing shadows. The film gently pokes fun at the universal human weakness for shortcuts and fantasies of overnight fortune.
