Overview

The Fashionista is an Arabic comedy-drama series that follows Mariam, a young woman who sets out to become an inspirational social media influencer with genuinely good intentions. As her follower count grows, however, her noble ambitions gradually give way to an obsession with fame, image, and online validation. The series delivers sharp social satire on the influencer culture that has taken hold across the Arab world, charting how the pursuit of likes and virality can corrupt authentic values and damage real-world relationships. Blending comedy with pointed commentary, The Fashionista asks uncomfortable questions about what we sacrifice in the race for digital fame — and whether the version of ourselves we project online ever truly matches who we are.
