In the Last Days of the City is an Egyptian independent drama film directed by Tamer El Said, set in the decaying grandeur of downtown Cairo. Khalid, a thirty-five-year-old filmmaker, is struggling to complete a film that captures the pulse of a city in the throes of transformation and loss, at a time when the dreams of those around him are crumbling as fast as the buildings themselves. Reaching out to friends sending footage from their lives in Beirut, Baghdad, and Berlin, Khalid attempts to assemble a mosaic portrait of cities on the edge of disappearance. A deeply personal and formally inventive work, the film blurs the boundary between documentary and fiction, meditating on memory, displacement, and the act of creation in times of collapse.
آخر أيام المدينة فيلم دراما مصري لعام 2016 من إخراج تامر السعيد، في ظهوره الأول، وقام بكتابة القصة والسيناريو والحوار المخرج بمشاركة الكاتبة والباحثة السينمائية اللبنانية رشا سلطي. الفيلم من بطولة خالد عبد الله، ليلى سامي، حنان يوسف، و مريم صالح، وتدور أحداثه في عام 2009، داخل مدينة القاهرة، حيث يعيش خالد، المخرج الشاب، وهو يحاول أن يصنع فيلمًا عن تلك المدينة، وما تحمله من أحلام. في الوقت الذي يعاني فيه من احتمالية أن يُطرد من شقته، وأن تهاجر حبيبته، ووسط كل هذا يتذكر أيام طفولته عندما كانت القاهرة مكانًا أكثر إشراقًا.
