Abu Jaafar Al-Mansour is an ambitious Arabic historical drama series chronicling one of the most pivotal eras in Islamic history — the twilight of the Umayyad Caliphate and the rise of the Abbasid dynasty. Beginning with the secret propagation of the Abbasid cause by Ali bin Abdullah bin Abbas and following the movement through generations of imams, the series builds toward the moment Abu Muslim Al-Khorasani leads the Abbasid armies to victory. At the center of the story stands Abu Jaafar Al-Mansour, the actual founder of the Abbasid Caliphate, whose twenty-year reign stretched from 137 AH to 157 AH.
