Overview

Ibn al-Amm (Cousin) is a documentary film shedding light on the extraordinary life of Syrian opposition figure Riyad al-Turk, who endured eighteen years as a political prisoner under the authoritarian rule of President Hafez al-Assad. Released only to be imprisoned again by Hafez's son Bashar al-Assad for two years at the outset of his presidency, al-Turk's story is one of unbroken resistance against decades of oppression.
