He began assuming responsibility for scenic design, starting with the film “Laila Daughter of the Desert” (February 1937), followed by the film “The Last Solution” (April 1937), directed by Abdel Fattah Hassan, then the film “Salameh Fi Khair” (November 1937) directed by Niazi Mustafa. He is distinguished by his designs that mimic the precise details, especially those related to historical and Islamic topics, as well as the details of the popular neighborhoods and the many delicate aspects associated with them. Senior interior designers, whether those who contemporaneous him or those influenced by him, studied under him, the most prominent of whom are: Shadi Abdel Salam, Onsi Al-Masry, Helmy Azab, Salah Marei, Maher Abdel Nour, Nihad Bahgat, and others. In the field of directing, the film (The Woman’s Game) starring Naguib Al-Rihani and Tahia Carioca is considered one of his most famous works as a director. Wali El-Din Sameh continued his career in the field of cinematic scenic design until his death in 1989.
