
Egyptian director and actor, born in 1939. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema, Department of Directing. At the beginning of his artistic career, he worked as an assistant director for a number of directors, including Youssef Shaheen, Fatin Abdel Wahab, and Hussein Kamal. He directed a number of documentary films, including The Hanging of Zahran in 1966. He turned to acting and had a role in the film The Ladies’ Barber. He died of an incurable disease in 1973.
