Mahmoud Alsarraj

A Sudanese actor and composer, he graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Khartoum in 1987, and studied music composition in the additional department of the Institute of Music and Theater. He received training courses in sound sciences, Arabic maqams, and jazz music in Sudan, Egypt, Syria, and the United States of America. His first cinematic work was in 1993 with Sudanese director Abdel Rahman Muhammad in the film “And Hope Remains.” He also participated in creating the soundtrack for the film itself. He participated in the Sudanese film “You Will Die at Twenty,” directed by Sudanese Amjad Abu Al-Ela. He participated in the movie “Al-Radi,” which won bronze at the Carthage Film Days Award, and won the Best Musician Award at the Sudan National Festival in 2018, and the Best Actor Award at the Baqaa International Theater Festival for his participation in the play “Dancing on Embers.” Member of the selection committee at the Sudan Independent Film Festival.
