
An Egyptian writer and author, born in 1919 in the village of Wardan, Al-Saf Center, Giza District. He received his primary and secondary studies in Cairo, but he was unable to complete his higher studies due to his family’s lack of resources. He moved to Cairo in 1941, and began his professional life by writing for Akher Sa’a magazine. In 1949, he assumed the presidency of Al-Sattar magazine, before joining Al-Jumhuriya and becoming one of its senior writers. Ibrahim Al-Wardani gained wide fame at the beginning of his journalistic and literary career, as he used to write short stories under the signature (Saghir Mai), and he won the State Encouragement Award for short stories in 1968. Among his artistic works are the film “Fugitive from Life” in 1964, and “The Hero” in 1950). He died on February 1, 1991, and was buried in his hometown of Wardan.
