
A great Egyptian director, who brought joy to many Egyptians, with his unparalleled performances. He is the genius Fahmy Abdel Hamid, who was born in 1939 in the Abbasiya neighborhood in Cairo. His father died four years later, so he could continue his life with his mother only and move to the family home in Qanater El Khayriyah. As a result of his love for art and beauty, he joined the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo and graduated in 1963. He then worked for Egyptian Television in 1964 in the Animation Department, and was apprenticed to the great director Ali Mohib, who helped him at the beginning of his career by designing sequences for a number of television series and cinematic films, the most famous of which was the film “The White Thread.” Then his real beginning came with Ramadan TV Fawazir, in which the artist Nelly played the starring role and her idea was based on I had to host the animation artists in each episode, and it was titled “A Picture and a Fawzura.” Then he presented “A Picture and Two Fawzura,” then “A Picture and Three Fawzura.” Then he met with the giant “Salah Jaheen” and presented Nelly’s most wonderful fawazir, “My Bride” and “The Matchmaker.” Then he created the character of Fatouta, which was played by the artist “Samir Ghanem.” In 1985, it was the beginning of Sherihan’s era with him for three years, and Fahmy continued to work until his last breath, which came on January 17th. 1990, while filming episodes of “One Thousand and One Nights” starring Medhat Saleh, Raghda, and Mona Abdel Ghani, after suffering a heart attack during an artistic career that did not last more than 51 years.
