
An Egyptian director, born on May 20, 1926. She emerged on the directing scene with series and films with valuable social content, as she shed light on pressing women’s issues through her various works. She is among the first female directors on Egyptian television since its inception. She spent one year in the Faculty of Arts, then traveled, and when she returned, she joined television before its opening, and worked as a secretary starting in March 1960 for the American expert who came to plan television affairs, and she benefited greatly from her presence in his office. Then she worked with him as an assistant when he directed the play “A Silent Cry,” and she became interested in this field. After that, she worked as an assistant to Ibrahim Al-Sahn and Youssef Marzouk and benefited greatly from them. Its beginning was the “Fake” evening by the writer Jalal Al-Ghazali, and among its series: “Harvest Nights” by the late writer Mahmoud Diab, “The End of Others,” “Karimah,” and “Atlal.”
