
An Egyptian poet, born in Cairo in 1956, distinguished himself in composing poetry in the Egyptian colloquial language. He began his professional life after graduating from the Faculty of Arts: Department of English Language, then obtained a Master’s degree in English Literature and Comparative Literature from the American University in Cairo. He traveled to the United States to complete his research before obtaining his Master’s degree. Bahaa Jaheen published a number of collections, including: Dancing in Traffic Traffic 1986, The Haunted Shirt 1990, Days 1996 for the Culture Palaces Authority, and then Personal Reveals for the same authority in 2000. He wrote songs for the films (Sama’ Hass) and (Ya Muhalabiya Ya) with director Sharif Arafa, and plays (Rosewood, Muhammad Ali Street, Bahloul in Istanbul, The Loves of Atwa Abu Mutawa), as well as He wrote the songs for the series (Bogie and Tamtam) and Fawazir (The Sweet Doesn't Complete, Jeeran El Hana).
