Adel Hashim

An Egyptian actor and director, born in Cairo in 1939. He began acting at a young age through school theater during his studies at King Nasser Primary School in Sayyeda Zeinab and reaching the secondary stage at Saidiya School. He initially joined the Faculty of Law at the request of his father, and after failing in the first year, he decided to move on to study at the Institute of Social Service until he obtained a bachelor’s degree in 1962. After graduation, he took the National Theater exams and was appointed. In addition to acting on stage, he initially worked as an assistant director with a large number of theater directors, such as Abdul Rahim Al-Zarqani, Saad Ardash, and Karam Mutawa. His first experience in theater directing was through the play (Al-Ans), and he continued to work in theater until 1970. Then he lived for 13 years between Algeria and France, and obtained a doctorate from Paris in theatrical sociology. He worked as a broadcaster, actor, and supervisor of programs broadcast in Arabic on Radio Paris. Arabic and Monte Carlo. He also worked at the National Institute for Audiovisual Media in France, and in Algeria he worked as a professor at the Acting Institute commissioned by the Ministry of Culture. He presented for television series (Muhammad, the Messenger of God, Raafat Al-Hagan, The Judiciary in Islam, Al-Halawani’s Gate, The Story of a City, Heroes). As for cinema, he participated in the films (A Man for This Time, Hoda and His Excellency the Minister, 131 Works, The Goblin of the Day, Calamity and His High Brain, War Atalia).
