
Egyptian poet and writer. He was born in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Ain Shams University in 1962, and also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Arabic Literature in 1965. He began writing while still in the study stage, so he wrote for Alexandria Radio, which presented him with many dramatic and lyrical works, the most famous of which was the series (Saad Al-Yateem), in addition to many operettas and songs. From Alexandria Radio, he headed to Cairo in 1958, where he presented the most famous Songs by great singers. He turned to writing radio serials, the most notable of which were (The First in Islam, Famous Women, The Rightly Guided Caliphs, and Those of Determination from the Messengers). With the beginning of broadcasting television, he presented many songs for serials, including (Al-Tahouna, Burj Al-Akaber, Still Dreaming of a Day) in addition to (One Thousand and One Nights), which he presented with director Fahmy Abdel Hamid for many years, until he wrote Ramadan Fawazir for 13 years.
