Who Is Afraid of Ideology? Part 4 – Reverse Shot is the latest installment in Lebanese-Palestinian artist Marwa Arsanios's ongoing intellectual project, which previously documented feminist experiments in community autonomy across Lebanon, Kurdistan, and Syria. In this fourth chapter, Arsanios ventures into speculative fiction, rooted in a remote stone quarry in Lebanon. Beginning with a provocative proposition — "Imagine a land without ownership" — a small group gathers on this contested piece of land to slowly exchange stories of domination and exploitation. The land itself, with its layered administrative, legal, geological, and biological history, becomes the site of a meditation on property, power, and belonging. Atmospheric and rigorously conceptual, the film continues Arsanios's meticulous excavation of ideology in everyday space.
