Toquous Wahshiyya (Savage Rites) is a Kuwaiti theatrical production directed by Ali Al-Hussaini and written by Iraqi playwright Qasim Al-Matroud, performed at the 12th Kuwait Theatre Festival where it swept multiple major awards. The production claimed Best Theatrical Performance and Best Direction, while Issa Diab was recognised as Best Supporting Actor, Faisal Al-Obaid won Best Lighting, and Walid Sarab received Best Sound Effects. A daring work that pushed the boundaries of Arabic theatre with bold direction, visceral imagery, and a deeply humanistic vision.
