Overview

Under the Lemon Tree is a Palestinian short film that unfolds in quiet, lyrical images as Khaldieh, a Palestinian woman, prepares a simple breakfast beneath the shade of a lemon tree. In this still and unhurried moment, the objects around her become conduits for memory — drawing her back to a former life, a lost homeland, and the textures of a world that no longer exists. Spare and deeply felt, the film uses the intimacy of a single morning ritual to speak to the enduring Palestinian experience of displacement, longing, and the way memory lives in the most ordinary of things.
