The Perfect Picture is a personal documentary by Lebanese filmmaker Hala El Kouch in which she stages an intimate therapy-room confrontation with her own parents. Over five days, El Kouch interrogates them about a traumatic event she believes fundamentally altered her life — only to discover that the moment that 'changed everything' for her carries far less weight in her parents' memory. Weaving together family photographs, home videos, and re-enacted scenes of warmth and tenderness, the film probes the fragility of memory, the myth of the perfect family, and the deeply personal ways in which the same event can leave entirely different marks on the people who shared it.
