Intersecting Memory, is a 2025 Palestinian movie, directed by Shayma' Awawdeh. with a runtime of 21 minutes.
Intersecting Memory is a personal Palestinian documentary directed by Shayma', who was six years old when the Second Intifada erupted. More than two decades later, she opens a box of old videotapes and begins piecing together the fragments of childhood memory. Addressing her mother in voice-over — a woman who claims to be blessed with a poor memory — Shayma' finds that her own recollections remain vivid and precise: the lace collar of her first school uniform, a birthday cake glimpsed through a cracked kitchen door, the family home later confiscated by Israeli soldiers. A quietly powerful meditation on memory, displacement, and what survives occupation.
