Sweet Discomfort of Missed Connections is a Lebanese drama about absence, grief, and unresolved history. Zahi travels from Germany to Beirut to finally claim his father's remains — the man was kidnapped thirty-five years earlier during the Lebanese civil war. But when he arrives at the hospital, the body has vanished again. Caught between Germany and Lebanon, between mourning and searching, Zahi cannot fully belong to either world. The film meditates on what it means to seek closure in a country still haunted by its own disappearances.
