Silentium is a psychological drama set during an oppressively hot and humid summer, unfolding in the ground-floor apartment of an old seaside building. Malek is a single woman with no family ties who fills her solitary days with a passion for Roman mosaics and a habit of watching her peculiar neighbors — a quirk her friends Khaled and Azza never stop mocking. But when night falls, violent, wordless commotion from behind neighboring closed doors floods her with anguish and stirs dark buried memories. Convinced that a monster inhabits her building — one that sends her messages and enters her apartment while she is away — Malek teeters on the edge of paranoia. The day she meets Jihène, a new tenant she instantly befriends, turns out to be the day the monster finally knocks on her own door.
