Scrupulous is a short psychological comedy centred on Marwan, a superstitious young man living with obsessive-compulsive disorder. With exactly one hour to go before his exam results are released, Marwan wages an exhausting inner battle against his own intrusive thoughts and irrational rituals. Sharp and empathetic in equal measure, the film uses a deceptively simple premise to shed light on the daily mental toll of OCD, finding humour and humanity in a very relatable kind of anxiety.
