Overview

Mama's Boy is an Egyptian comedy film that takes a wildly inventive premise and wrings genuine warmth from it. Gang leader Magdy Takhtokh is critically injured in a brawl and urgently needs a heart transplant. When a young man's mother dies at the same moment, doctors transplant her heart into Takhtokh — and the transformation is unexpectedly tender. The hardened criminal begins treating the young man, Younes, with a mother's instinctive love and protectiveness. A playful meditation on nature versus nurture, the film blends absurdist comedy with sincere emotion to ask: can a mother's heart change even the worst of men?
