If the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris had burned to the ground, this would have been a loss that the whole world would mourn. Its designers and builders bravely and boldly created a new architectural style that changed the concept of sacred building architecture in France, and even in all of Europe. Built between 1163 and 1345, the cathedral is one of the oldest Gothic churches in France dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The documentary presents stories about the builders, their vision, the dangers they faced, setbacks and successes, with real photos that shed light on historical and technical details. It also touches on the subject of the famous rose windows and the water flowing from the mouths of the famous gargoyles. In 1831, Victor Hugo wrote his famous novel, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” which gave the cathedral an immortal place in world literature.
