Overview

Noor is an Egyptian drama short film set in a working-class suburb of Cairo during the Ramadan season. Thirteen-year-old Fingo harbors a simple but stubborn dream: to hang celebratory lights along the street of his tight-knit neighborhood. In a community where everyone knows everyone else's business, he is met with skepticism and discouragement from neighbors who insist the task is impossible. Rather than dissuading him, their doubt only strengthens his resolve. With just two days left and seemingly insurmountable obstacles in his path, Fingo races against time in a heartfelt coming-of-age story that captures the indomitable spirit of childhood and the festive determination that defines Ramadan in Cairo's popular quarters.
