Overview

In this second part, the memoirs program continues to review the life of the politician, traveler, and explorer Harry St. John Philby, or as he was later known as “Sheikh Abdullah Philby,” who is considered one of the men on whose shoulders the British empire in the Arab East was established. Despite this, his relationship with Great Britain was marred by many fluctuations and turmoil, as he often disagreed with the policies it set for the Arab region. The episode tells the story of his transformation from an intelligence officer serving the British government to an advisor in the court of King Abdul Aziz bin Saud.
