Mimesis is a Tunisian drama film that centers on Bouchra, a young woman raised in the shadow of the saint's mausoleum of Sidi Sardi. When a hostile imam threatens to convert her family home into a mosque, her world is upended by a chance encounter with Ahmed, a cameraman who offers to help her document the saint's legend on film. What begins as a simple project spirals into a captivating investigation that stretches across Tunisia and through the turbulent history of the twentieth century, gradually shaking the beliefs Bouchra has always taken for granted.
