I Will Not Live in the Shadow of My Father is an Egyptian drama series following the rise of Abdul Ghafour Al-Barraie, portrayed by Nour El-Sherif, from humble origins in a merchant's trading house to building a business empire of his own. Along the way, he falls for Fatima, a koshari seller played by Abla Kamel, and the two build a family together. Yet despite his remarkable success, Abdul Ghafour's greatest heartache comes from his son Abdul Wahab, played by Mohamed Riad, who stubbornly insists on carving his own path, refusing to live under the weight of his father's legacy.
