Overview
La Güera, My Forgotten Land is a 29-minute documentary tracing the fate of a ghost town on the border between Mauritania and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. Through three displaced survivors — Mohamed in Nouadhibou, former postman Aalien in the refugee camps of Tindouf, Algeria, and Zeinabu watching the ocean from her terrace in Tenerife — the film reconstructs the memory of a city buried under sand and a people scattered across continents. A meditation on exile, belonging, and the landscapes we carry within us.
