Overview

Kilo 64 is a documentary that charts the entrepreneurial journey of Wael El-Shenawy, a 24-year-old Egyptian pharmacy graduate who, inspired by the spirit of the 2011 revolution, chose to abandon his professional training and launch an agricultural startup at Kilo 64 on the Cairo–Alexandria Desert Road. Driven by genuine idealism and a desire to contribute to Egyptian society and its economy, Wael throws himself into a venture that proves far more challenging than anticipated. The film follows his journey as reality collides with ambition, offering an honest and at times difficult portrait of post-revolution Egypt through the lens of one young man's attempt to build something meaningful from scratch.
