I Was Grateful the Wind Tore Out My Camera's Microphone is a short personal documentary film in the form of a letter from Beirut, filmed in the spring of 2020. Shot during one of the most turbulent periods in Lebanon's recent history, the film captures a fragile, urgent moment in the city's life. The broken microphone of the title becomes a quiet metaphor for a city on the edge — silenced, windswept, and at the mercy of forces beyond its control. An intimate, raw document of Beirut at a crossroads.
